10 Encounters! Launching this cultural project in the city of Gondomar was a fascinating challenge, with a deeply committed team. The fundamental support of the Municipality and the consolidated support of the Ministry of Culture through DGArtes have confirmed the cultural value of this program throughout these ten editions.

Thousands of spectators, hundreds of participants in workshops, exhibitions, open classes, play spaces, training sessions, community shows, installations, shows by companies from all over the country, more than 30 international companies who flew in from the Americas, Africa, the Orient, and Europe to present their artistic work.

This is a solid program, implemented in the city, decentralized throughout the municipality, with a lot of programming that comes from collaborative work with the local community.

10 Encounters! This 2024 edition features around 50 creative proposals for all audiences, 4 international companies representing 8 countries, Uruguay and Spain, Ukraine and Poland, Cape Verde and Portugal, Holland and Brazil.

Duda Paiva, Trupe Fandanga / Circolando - Cooperativa Cultural, Teatro Regional da Serra do Montemuro, Theatre MarionBrand, Lua Cheia - Teatro para todos, VumTeatro, Imaginar do Gigante, Saaraci Criativo Teatral, Coriolis - Teatro de Objetos, Companhia Marimbondo and Krisálida. Community collaborations with Projet'arte in Rio Tinto, Cerciesta in Estarreja and the Vermoim/Sobreiro da Maia Community Center are also highlights of this edition.

But the gardens of Gondomar Municipal Library “Camilo de Oliveira” will be full of activities for youngsters and families, with free workshops taking place throughout the festival days, as well as traditional games where the puppet is always present, built by Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora's artists.

So much to say, our premiere “Mãos de Sal - Lambe Lambe” is also a proposal that we greatly appreciate.

There will be much more to come. We'll be in the city center, but as usual we'll also be in various parishes in the municipality, filling spaces with art and culture, in a necessary relationship with our audience.
