• Do you want me to tell you? is an oral storytelling project, an encounter with memory and social and human tradition, a collective experience for listening to and telling stories, functioning as a unifying axis between two generations. On the one hand, a wise, experienced generation that, like a book, is not only a keeper of stories, words, songs, knowledge, and values, but also of archetypes that must be valued, transmitted, and passed on as a testimony; and, on the other hand, a younger generation, with fresh minds, eager and curious, which we want to awaken through a collective experience of listening to and experiencing tales and stories, and whose imagination, creativity, and verbal and sensory language it is important to stimulate.

But where does this story come from? And where do all the other stories we know come from, the ones that are passed from mouth-to-mouth?

Pull, pull the thread of the spinning wheel,

Now make a ball of yarn,

wind it, wind it, and unwind it.

You will see that the sounds, words, and stories are born from the heart of the spinning wheel.

Ei! Marionetas welcomes this creation as one would welcome a storyteller who comes to us so that together we can listen and savour the pleasure of storytelling. The objects, here, take on a symbolic dimension, of memory, in an artistic creation dedicated to younger audiences.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome a great company, which we greatly admire for the cultural decentralization work it has been committed to over the years, turning Tondela into a theatrical stage of immense importance. It is a great pleasure to welcome Trigo Limpo Teatro ACERT and for this, and so many other reasons, it is unmissable to watch the show and respond: Yes, I want you to tell me.

Since its formation in 1976, it has established itself as a theatre company committed to discovering intersections between different artistic languages and performance, as a way of promoting experimental, consistent, creative, and socially integrated theatrical intervention in community cultural intervention.

The room was packed to hear the story of this wonderful storyteller who enchanted the audience with small objects and word games. “Can it be?” Traditional Portuguese stories that bring us into the intimacy of this kind lady's storytelling, who unravels tales in a delicate dynamic, sharing and caressing the audience like a hand caresses her children.

What a wonderful moment, intimate, delicate, so deliciously told, where words unravel, where the light and textures of the scene take us inside the stone house of a storyteller in a village, in one of the shops where wool is worked, folding with the folding machine that throws the thread at us in the form of stories... A place where wool and balls of yarn are figures, objects, intentions, sheep, where the body lends itself to the story at every moment. A room full of good energy.

And in the end, there was talk of the many years that unite ACERT and Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, in a relationship and identity that sometimes come together and where craftsmanship mixes with deep mutual friendship.
